The Literary Phoenix

Funny, the damage a silly little book can do. Especially in the hands of a silly little girl.

she wished upon a falling star
and closed her eyes, dreamed afar
of magic kingdoms, riches and kings,
dancing and finery – the nicest things.

where nobody cried and nobody died
everyone laughed and nobody lied.
where lullabys lulled the dreamers abed
with warming songs alight in their heads.

in that world, she shimmered and glowed,
the tiniest angel on the yellow brick road.
she brought hope and light to the land afar
until her eyes opened… and here we are.
